INTRODUCTION

Claudia, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
I started painting and playing with numerous materials at age 4. And since that time, always enjoyed experimenting and creating. I then went to art school and studied Graphic Design and worked with Anton Stankowsky before going to New York to study fabric design and early computer graphics.

I graduated from F.i.T ( fashion institute of technology). And headed back to Europe where I started curating my own Art shows. Since then I am now being represented and exhibiting Worldwide at Art Fairs, Art Galleries, curated exhibitions and Museums. I also work and nurture a close relationship with Interior designers and architects and am currently exploring New Technologies; augmented  and virtual reality.

Great, so let’s dig a little deeper into the story – has it been an easy path overall and if not, what were the challenges you’ve had to overcome?
I believe that being an artist is never a smooth road. I always have been Artistic and have had to deal with this reality and make the choice it implies. Nothing is easy in life, so I decided early on that I’d rather work hard to do what I love.
At first, it took trials and mistakes, but as I grew and strengthened my vision and my skills. I progressively found my own path. I met people who noticed and believed in me. I’d say that since day one my main focus has been to always nurture my own originality and develop a language to articulate and express it into something unique and refreshing.

Copying has never been of interest to me and I believe this contributed to where I am right now.

Alright – so let’s talk business. Tell us about Claudia Meyer Contemporary Art – what should we know?
I enjoy sketching, drawing, designing, painting, engraving, staining, using tools. I love curating and developing projects and working with Interior designers, architects, developers, Art consultants, curators, agents, museums. I cannot stop doing that all day long. I can’t help it! I have thousands of ideas! and I love what technology brings. But… what inspires me most is NATURE. That is why I do not believe that separating creativity into different “disciplines” is wise. I am a strong believer of transversality.

Today’s Artists must re-invent themselves and break the old clichés. Art is and can be everywhere. The world is our playground. People love Art, and there are so many ways to reach out. I am bringing Art where it is often less expected. Art that inspires people and ushers positive energy to their life.

My art is intended to uplift, not to depress. I believe that is what I am well known for. My art is luminous, deep and resonate to inner emotions. it is not intended to provoke, it is intended to inspire.

Is there a characteristic or quality that you feel is essential to success?
Honesty, Consistency, Originality, Reliability.
